What’s black and white and red all over?
If you’re thinking zebra with a sunburn, guess again. Spades, hearts and clubs – how is that for a clue?
What we want to talk about is more than just a deck of cards, but rather a casino – Toronto’s proposed casino.
Just how does the word ‘casino’ make you feel? Are you stoked to hit the slots? Practicing your finest poker face? Or are you headed for the hills, denouncing all associations with your once favored TO. Or maybe you’re just unsure, what does it really mean to have a casino in your city?
No matter where you may land on the roulette board, we invite you to the upcoming Salon.
The plan: A large group discussion followed by smaller groups to talk about the casino feedback form on offer by the City and any other technical details that have been hard to grasp.
As stated by a recent article in the Globe and Mail, “provincial laws changed in June, meaning a referendum is no longer necessary before the province approves a casino in any municipality.” The City will only be gathering input from feedback forms submitted online and 5 public consultation sessions. The City is stopping to solicit feedback on January 25th. Clearly, this doesn’t give us too many options, so lets use the Salon to talk this one out.
For those interested, the two remaining sessions are:

6:00 pm – 9:00 pm - Saturday January 19
