Allow us to offer a wee bit of context. The Civic Salon arose as a response to 2 big questions:
1. What is the best way to make public policy? Is it by putting a bunch of ‘experts’ in a room OR are there better alternatives that we haven’t tapped into?
2. How can political engagement be sexy? How do we create the hybrid of discussing social/environmental issues and having fun?
The Civic Salon is an experiment to see how conversations amongst interested, open-minded and engaged individuals can lead to great things.
So this is great beyond belief ! My first question is ——-besides a day trip to Hamilton——Is there plans afoot for a salon in our city ?
